Sherry Ann Murray, 56, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away Sunday July 30, 2017. Sherry was born in Chicago, Illinois, where she attended De Paul University. As a young woman, she moved to St. Petersburg where she began her 30-year long career in employment benefits. A former board member for the Florida West Coast Employee Benefits Council, she was committed to her work. Sherry was also immeasurably compassionate, dedicating herself to helping in the Voices of Hope support group and Florida Cancer Specialists' Women's Cancer support group, even while she battled cancer herself. She is survived by her husband Michael Murray; daughter, Brandy Murray; son, Ryan Murray; father, Philip LasCola; mother, Barbara LasCola; brother, Jimmy LasCola; and sister, Cindy Reschner. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 12th, 3pm at Sylvan Abbey United Methodist Church, 2817 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759. Interment will follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
