She leaves behind her husband of 36 years, Mark Jorns; her children, Renaann, Kathryn, Matthew and Christopher; her grandchildren, Zoey and Samuel; and her brothers, John and Eric Stroud.
She was predeceased by her parents, Rena and Garner Stroud.
Sallyann was born January 23, 1959, in Wichita, Kansas, to Rena and Garner Stroud. She graduated from Olathe High School in 1977. She earned a B.A. degree in education from Kansas State University in 1981 and a master’s degree in deaf education from the University of Kansas in 1986.
Sallyann Stroud and Mark William Jorns were married on June 26, 1981, in Olathe, Kansas. During their marriage, they were active in Olathe Christian Church in Olathe, Kansas; First Christian Church in Clearwater, Florida; Evangel Temple in Jacksonville, Florida; and Calvary Church in Clearwater, Florida.
Sallyann taught for more than 17 years throughout her career, including 15 years teaching in Florida.
God was first in every area of Sallyann’s life from how she read through the Bible in a year 15-plus times to her commitment to her marriage, children and church. She was devoted to spending time with her children and grandchildren, teaching and working with the deaf. She loved sitting by the ocean, crocheting and scrapbooking.
A memorial service for Sallyann will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 26, 2018, at First Christian Church in Clearwater, Florida, with Bruce Humphrey officiating.
