Rick was my soul mate, the love of my life and an amazing husband with a beautiful soul.  Ours was a once in a lifetime relationship and it was easy because loving people was what Rick did best.  Whether it was his boys, grandkids, family, friends, or Christian love for all people, he dedicated himself to caring about others.  Everyone was important to him.   Since Rick’s passing, I have heard countless people say that Rick always gave more to everyone else without ever taking anything in return.  Every day Rick tried to live a Christ-like life.  I believe these testimonials show that he succeeded. 

In our almost 31 years of marriage, Rick was so sweet and thoughtful, he once took a Bible study on how to be a better husband (as if he even needed to).  He would try to “out serve” me in our marriage and would do awesome little acts of kindness to show me he was thinking of me, like setting up my coffee in the morning and leaving a little love note on top of the coffee maker.  He used to open my car door for me, fill my car with gas and wash it for me.  He would call me several times a day to see if I needed anything.  He would frequently say that he was proud to be married to me and I felt loved in a way I had never felt before.  His commitment to me carried us through the storms of life and Rick did it with kindness, strength, selflessness and grace.   He was definitely the better half.

I believe Rick passed those qualities on to his sons and grandchildren.   I see Rick in each and every one of them and to my immense joy, they have surrounded me with so much love since Rick passed.  What a beautiful legacy and comfort that is!  I am truly blessed.  

My sweet husband once wrote to me that loving each other forever could never be long enough for him and that he looked forward to seeing me in heaven.  Now I also look forward to that day in heaven when we see each other again!

I’ve had trouble finding the words that could possibly articulate the man Rick was. When my mom passed Rick became like a guardian to me. Even as I entered my late 20s he would still refer to me and my brother as “the kids”. He really stepped up and looked after my brother and me. He helped me navigate her passing and years later still guided me through big decisions. I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for him. Rick was the kind of man that I knew I could trust 100%. Recently he wrote me a check for something he felt he had overlooked and felt responsible, “because he wouldn’t be able to sleep well at night”. His heart was so big. I met with Rick a few weeks before his passing and he was talking to me about taking more time off to spend with his family. His love for his wife and family was overflowing. Barb and family, my heart breaks for you. Grief is the most painful human experience, and I pray you and your family find peace. 

Thank you Rick for being an amazing guardian, mentor, and friend to me.

He was a amazing example and mentor for me….he was truly the best friend you can ask for….he never judged but always encouraged me and in Christ…he loved my son Coben and always supported his hockey and made sure he was staying on the right path….he was always checking in on Siena and her soccer as well….my heart will forever have a missing piece with him being gone….but I know he will still be praying for me and my family always looking out for us….he always gave more to everyone without taking anything in return….I can only aspire to be a man like Rick and will try to follow the Christian example he has set forth….barb we are here for you if need anything!!!!! Several years ago Rick and Barb visited us at our cabin in the Georgia mountains.  One morning while drinking coffee on the front porch Rick turned to us and said "This is the most relaxed I have been in years, there is something about the mountains"  
We have so many fond memories of Rick and Barb traveling with the Fun Friends.  We will miss his smile and will never forget one of the best persons we have ever known.


What a beautiful gift Rick had to make people feel so special and so loved.  I’m overwhelmed with emotions reading all the messages here.  He was always there if you needed him - always willing to help,  a great listener,  so funny, kind, such joy for life and so much love in his ❤️  for others.  But what I remember most about my brother-in-law was his undeniable faith that he lived out in all of his relationships. He was our family’s rock, he always pointed us towards hope. How blessed am I to have had a brother-in-law who was someone who lived a Christ led life. Our family will never be the same but we are better for the time we shared with Rick.

 We are so sorry for your loss Barb.  I find myself thinking about all the different chapters knowing Rick the last 33 years.  From Beach Financial when I first met Rick in 1989 to your wedding reception at Cheval to dinners with the Seidels to law school to law practice and most importantly as family at Calvary.  Brothers in Christ.  

It painful to know he’s not here but each time I think of Rick I can only think of his kindness and most awesome smile and laugh.  I rest in knowing we will see him again someday.

We first met Rick in June’84 as my second audit client in Florida during my CPA days and his time at Fortune Savings, where his cooperative, humble, do the right thing and do it well qualities made an immediate and lasting impression.  His best client ever status quickly evolved into a best of friends’ status due to his open, caring personality, sense of humor and engaging, easy smile.  
 
After a couple years of highly enjoyable lunches, dinners, cocktail parties, etc., a forgotten tennis date turned invitation to join his bowling team set off a chain of cherished lifelong relationships built through the years of Fun Friends adventures, family vacations, weddings, parties, golf weekends, Lightning and Rays games and countless other memories shared with Rick, Barb and our extended friends’ families, …. all for which Kathy and I are eternally grateful. 
 
There are many people that influence the ups and downs of life’s journey, some good, some bad, some in and out, and some just now and then.  We have been so fortunate and are thankful to God that Rick has been one of those special few who stuck with us through and through.  His kindness, gracious spirit and love of life will be with us forever, and although his physical presence will be greatly missed, we take comfort knowing that our relationship lives on, and that with Jesus’ hand on his shoulder, he will continue to guide us and pray for us until we meet up again.  We Love you, Rick!   


Stop all the clocks.  Turn off all the presses.  Cut off all the phones.  He was our North our South East and West. He was our working week and our Sunday best.  I thought friendship would last forever alas I was wrong                                               

Rick was not just a “Fun Friend” , but the family we have known  and loved. Through thick and thin we have shared with Rick, Barb, and their sons ,weddings, birthdays, graduations, holidays and family losses. We  shed these tears in your memory, with the thought that you have moved on too soon for those who remain behind. We stand in line behind all the family and close friends to offer you our deepest sympathy on the death of such an amazingly wonderful man who captured the hearts and enhanced the spirit of everyone in his life in one way or another through his zest and profound love for his family, friends, community and above all, his God,  who has now brought him "home" to enjoy the gift of everlasting life as promised.

Although we have never met him, we can truly see he touched all of you and will be immensely missed.

We befriended Kathy and Brian here in The Villages over 4 years ago and are delighted to now be able to cultivate that friendship on a more permanent level.

Rick was one of the finest people it has been our pleasure to meet and know.  He was also one of the most selfless individuals  we have ever met.  So many things come to mind: brilliant, unflappable, a CPA and a Lawyer and he practiced the best of both professions.   He helped our family and so many of our friends and acquaintances.   He had patience rivaling Job.   We have been in a state of shock and mourning since hearing of Rick's passing but we know he is alive in all of us who knew and loved him. My condolences to the Sadorf family.  I believe my introduction to Rick was around 2014-2015 and our business relationship grew from legal counsel for my business, to real estate closing and family planning. Not everyone can say that their legal counsel is also a CPA. Rick excels in both areas. 
Outside of work we had fun discussions in the EV space and his desire to own a Tesla. He may have have his first Tesla experience in my own car. Rick set the expectation in becoming a grandfather one day by sharing his own fun experiences with his 7 grandchildren of his own.
Rick was not only a legal and financial advisor, but he was also a friend that will certainly be miss.


Where do I begin.  Rick has been apart of my life for over 30 years.  He was generous and kind.  Rick was the type of person who would give you the shirt off of his back.  I have several fond memories of Rick including times when I would come home from the military on leave.  Rick would talk to me for hours and ask about my experiences serving and what life was like overseas.  As a Vet, Rick was proud to have served in the Army.  He invited me to his F3 workout group for a Saturday morning workout.  Rick said the guys like to banter the Navy and he was going to bring someone who could keep up and lead the group sessions.  I showed up and we all had a blast.  I could tell Rick was proud to call me his friend.  Some other fond memories are spending time in the cabin in NC.  We started an annual tradition where we all just could let loose and laugh for hours at a time.  Rick will be missed but he has left a positive legacy on this earth and impacted people's lives in ways he probably never thought possible.  Rest in peace Rick and see you in the afterlife.  God bless Barb and the rest of Rick's family and friends in this difficult time and just know he was loved by all.

My deepest condolences to Barbara and her family. Loss is never easy but memories and love help heal the emptiness. 

God used Rick to help me when a tree limb fell in my yard.  It was raining out and I was trying to move a very large tree limb that had fallen near Countryside Blvd. across the sidewalk.  Rick saw me, pulled over and got out of his car in his nice clothes to help me.  Then a police officer joined us and we moved that limb.  I will always remember Rick for that act of kindness.

Rick was a wonderful estate attorney for me when my husband passed away in July of 2021. The estate was closed in May of this year and I hugged his neck in May and moved to Atlanta from Clearwater to be closer to my children. It is hard for me to comprehend he is gone since I only saw him for the last time in May but he did an excellent job for me and I will never forget him. My sincere condolences to Barbara and all the family. Truly a loss for all of us. Rest In Peace

My cousin Rick was a kind and thoughtful man, even as a very young person.  He had a great personality and always good fun to be with.  I'm so glad that he also had a firm faith in the Lord over many years.

Rick was a treasure when my mother-in-law died.  His patience, support and diligence in sorting her estate out saved my sanity many times.  He was always the voice of calm. I had the privilege of knowing Rick professionally. We met as we were on opposing sides of a case. I always stayed in touch. He was a great lawyer and quality person anyone would want to know. Very sad news.

When I was sick last year and in the hospital, Rick kept up with me and let me know that I wasn't alone. He visited me after I got out and brought me a meal. He sat with me, encouraged me and loved me. Whether it was a cup of coffee or a major car repair, Rick gave of himself. He exemplified Christ-like character. While we look forward to the day when we will see him again... until then, he will be sorely missed.

I met Rick through Man Up and Go. The goal of Man Up is to mobilize men to fight for the fatherless and Rick was the purest example of that mission. A genuinely amazing and kindhearted man that would give you the shirt off his back. (Albeit a sweaty shirt because he out-worked many of the younger guys in the cohort.) He not only served but so did Barb, his joy-filled, fun-loving wife! Rick, thank you for loving as Jesus loved. You are missed, but we give thanks for the promise of Heaven we have in Christ! Well done good and faithful servant!! Well done!! 🤗

Rick was a man that spoke thru his actions.  His "can do" attitude was contagious.   He represented everything that is good in this world.   I loved how he always gave 100% in everything he did from the Saturday morning workouts,  Manupandgo volunteer projects,  leading us in our Friday day Bible studies and planning annual outings to his cabin.  I always told "new recruits" to our F3 workouts that we had a 72 year old doing the workout...couldn't be that hard 😜. Of course once they met him,  they realized that he put us all to shame.   He has inspired me in so many ways....from his love of Christ,  his passion for serving others and his humble attitude.   He helped me in so many ways to include helping my mom put together a will.  His wife, Barb and him have led thru example of what it means to serve others in their commitment to Manupandgo.  They have had such a tremendous impact on all of those that know them.  I am honored to have known them and to be able to have called them friends.   I pray that everyone has a couple like them in their lives.  🙏

Rick is an amazing man.  I say is, because I know that while Rick is no longer here with us, he is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus.  We know that Rick’s body is here with us, but Rick is now with Jesus.  Also Rick’s influence will continue to live on in the lives of so many.  He has been a testimony to a life transformed by the gospel of Jesus.  I will always think of Rick, and I hope to have a life of influence comparable to his.  I will never forget the time we took a three day hike through the Colhutta Wilderness, and he showed all of us young guns how it was done.  

Rick entered into my life as the Chief Financial Officer of newly formed Fortune Leasing and was basically responsible for running the company as we were essentially a financial services business.  He quickly became invaluable to me and was proven completely trustworthy, full of character and integrity.  We worked together to complete a leveraged buyout of the company where he worked tirelessly with the lender to justify their financing.    It could not have been completed without his expertise and effort and I am forever thankful to him for the outcome.  I exited the business shortly thereafter and Rick became CEO and successfully executed the business plan along with an equally valuable friend and employee, Chip Seidel to whom I am equally grateful.  We stayed in touch over the years and I watched Rick grow and prosper in his law practice and Christian faith.  There is no greater pleasure on this earth than to watch such increasing commitment to our Lord Jesus  and the love emanating from it.  My heart broke on hearing the news of his homegoing and Barb's heartbreak  surely crushes mine.  Rick and I were close and dear brothers in Christ and I miss him already.   I am  trusting God that my grief will turn to joy on that day when we can bear hug again,  This offers blessed hope to me.  What a day, glorious day that will be!

I will always remember and hold dear all our happy  family times with Rick.  Rick was always a fun cousin to be with. It's amazing to think back and realize how fast times has gone.  I know Rick is with his Lord now and we all see him again some day.  Barb and all my cousins and their families I hold you close to my heart - and know that Rick is happy and at peace.

Rick, aka Zamboni, is who I want to be.  A man who is considered a nice person.  He would be the definition of a Christian, and an example of what one should look like. 

I loved getting to know Rick ("Zamboni") through F3 Clearwater,  Man Up and Go, and Calvary Church.  My son "Spidey" and I were always amazed at his physical fitness every time we worked out together at F3.   We are going to miss him greatly.  Barb we are praying for you.
