Taber Burson, Sr., and Elizabeth "Biddie" Renick.
He and his sister Mary grew up in Ohio, where he was a member of the class of 1957 at Grandview Heights High School. After graduation and Army service, he attended Ohio State University, Ohio Technical Institute, and Nova University.
In 1967 he moved to the Tampa Bay Area and began work as a technical writer at Honeywell. He remained in Technical Publications until his retirement in 2005.
Ralph and his wife Anne have lived in Palm Harbor for 43 years. He is also survived by a son, Jon (and wife Tiffany) of Kearsarge, New Hampshire, and two granddaughters, Heather and Alison.
Ralph had many interests, including bag piping, tennis, cross stitch, and SCUBA. After retirement he became skilled working with stained glass. He served on the Board of the Miniature Art Society of Florida. Ralph was also very active in his church community. He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Palms where he served several terms as president and then treasurer; later he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Clearwater and was their bookkeeper for many years.
He passed away unexpectedly on April 16. He will be remembered for his quick wit and generous heart.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1812 N. Highland Avenue Clearwater, Florida 33755.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Lutheran World Relief.
