Our beloved, Patricia Anne Van Pelt/ Cloughsey (Miss Patti/GaGa) born May 27, 1948 died at the age of 71 peacefully on February 28,2020. She is survived by her daughter, Stacy, son-in-law, Mark and the apple of her eye, her granddaughter, Ashley. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Ronald Cloughsey, and her loving parents, Thomas and Margaret Van Pelt. Patti was born in Staten Island,NY where she was raised and held many fond memories of family gatherings, summers spent on the lake and at the shore.
Patti was very Involved in her Catholic faith and in her youth, she served at her hometown church, Sacred Heart. She attended St. Peter’s Catholic All Girls School where she excelled in playing basketball. Patti was also honored and recognized with many academic achievement awards and graduated top of her class. After graduation Patti worked for a prestigious law firm on Wall Street. She married her life long best friend, Ronald Cloughsey and moved to Florida in 1977. This is where she made a home and life for herself. After having Stacy, she was able to enjoy time to be a stay-at-home Mom. When she was ready to go back to work, Patti took a job as a personal assistant to Richard Dimmitt and was with him for 32 years and had many amazing experiences watching and assisting with the creation of what is known today as Dimmitt Luxury Motors. After retirement she was able to do what she loved the most which was to spend time caring for her granddaughter. They loved each other so much!!! Patti’s favorite past time was spending time with family, taking cruises, and of course, anyone who knows her knows, she loved the casinos.
Patti was loved by all that met her, she spoke her mind, was strong and independent. She had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone that needed it. This earth was a better place while she was here. She will leave behind great memories, friendships and her love. GOD knew she couldn’t go on and saw she was tired ....he took the burden off of her as he carried her into the kingdom of heaven where she will have eternal peace. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, March 15 at 1 PM at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd., Clearwater, Florida 33759.
