Cherished New Port Richey, Florida resident Pamela Jean Perko’s life of achievements came to an unexpected end recently. Pam passed away comfortably at 1:24 AM on November 22, 2023 after a brief health battle. Her favorite person on Earth, her father, William Raymond Perko held her hand for five hours as she slipped away at the young age of 61. Her younger sister, Karen Marie Perko was also in the room with her, as her brother, sister-in-law, and niece raced to her side from Pennsylvania, ultimately being with her only in spirit due to the quickness that God reunited her with her beloved Mother, Anna Mary Perko who flew to Heaven only two short years prior to Pam’s passing.
Pam was a beautiful woman with a kind-hearted soul who spent a lot of her time continuously bettering herself and garnering an array of achievements along the way. Her key achievements started with graduating from Revere High School in Richfield, Ohio, receiving her Diploma in 1980. But that was just an initial stepping stone for her continued drive of learning and expanding her knowledge in Business and Accounting. Pam went on to receive an Associate of Applied Business degree in Secretarial Science from The University of Akron in 1984. In 1994 she received an Associate of Applied Business Degree in Business Management from The Cuyahoga Community College in Ohio.
Soon after, Pam voyaged from Ohio to Florida, never to return. Her motivation for the relocation was to be close to her retired parents as well as to be surrounded by the aquatic wildlife that Florida is most famous for – everything from manatee to blue herons to dolphins. From her new region, she completed The National Society of Leadership and Success program in 2013 and was recognized with a membership in the Chapter of Sigma Alpha Pi by the University of Tampa. In 2014 Pam was duly elected and inducted to membership in The University of Tampa’s Upsilon Tau Chapter by the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society. In 2016 Pam received a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Tampa. From there she applied her knowledge of Accounting at a range of companies. Her final place of employment was at Signode in Tampa where she led a team of accountants, who adored her and considered her a close friend, while she and her team managed hundreds of Signode subsidiary businesses.
Pam had an uncanny ability to find happiness in maintaining her home. She worked tirelessly making her yard look picture-perfect and then admiring her efforts with her five-year-old Jack Russell, Hunter, her immensely loved soulmate. Every friend of Pam’s knew that she was a unique, rare, wonderful person who cared very deeply for every aspect of life. Pam is survived by her father, William Raymond Perko; her younger sister, Karen Marie Perko; her brother, David Paul Wyatt Perko; her sister-in-law, Rhonda Lynn Perko; and Neice, Chloé Miranda Perko. She will be inexorably missed by friends and family near and far.
In lieu of Funeral services, Pam’s only wish was to be cremated with her ashes merging amongst the beautiful waters of The Gulf of Mexico at sunset. In lieu of gifts or flowers, she specifically requested donations to be made in her name to: The Animal Humane Society (a nonprofit organization, EIN 41-0693842) at 845 Meadow Lane N, Golden Valley, MN 55422, or its lawful successor, The World Wildlife Fund, Inc. (a nonprofit organization, EIN 52-1693387) at 1250 24th Street NW, Washington, DC 20037.
