Norman T Ross

Norman Thacher Ross, 84, died November 9, 2016 following a brief illness. He leaves his wife, Carol Ross; his daughter, Lynne Dougherty (Michael); his daughter, Wendy Ross; his son, Craig Ross (Linda); his son, Scott Ross (Jo); his daughter, Nancy Floto (Ron); grandchildren CJ Ross, John Ross, Emma Ross; Rick Floto; great granddaughter Kileigh Floto; and many friends. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Nancy Ross. Born and raised in Wellesley (MA), the son of Charlotte and Norman Ross, formerly of Framingham (MA) and Plano (TX). A 1954 graduate of Dartmouth College he was an active supporter every year since graduating. Mr. Ross worked for State Mutual Life Assurance Company and Northern Telecom and most recently was President, Fundamental Investments. Mr. Ross was a life-long Sports Fan who was passionate for the Red Sox, Patriots, Bucs and Lightning. He was an active tennis player for many years at Countryside Country Club where he was past Chair of the Board and Board Member. He was an avid poker player. His happiest days were spent with his family enjoying the beach or telling one more story. His life was blessed when he met Carol 16 years ago and they enjoyed their movies and sports, evenings at home, and time with friends and family. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 16 at 11:00 am at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church (Safety Harbor, FL) followed by a Remembrance Luncheon at Countryside County Club (Clearwater, FL) for family and friends. Inurnment and a Remembrance Luncheon will be held in Newton, MA in early December.
