Maurice DiCairano, 78, died peacefully of cancer of the bile ducts on Jan. 14th at Brookside Hospice’s Northern Care Center. Born on Dec 16, 1937 in Sleepy Hollow, NY son of late Louis and Vincenza DiCairano of Calitri, Avelleno. Italy. He was a resident of Clearwater, FL since 1989. He served in the U.S. Army from May, 1957 until May, 1960, and received his BS in business from Mercer College in 1977. He eventually managed the data processing department at EG&G Rotron, Woodstock NY, until his retirement in 1989 and moved to Clearwater, FL. Here he worked at School Book Fairs and then Advantech Solutions until his second retirement. Maurice was a volunteer fire fighter and subsequently fire chief for six fire companies with the Sleepy Hollow Fire Company and later a volunteer at Suncoast Hospice for 11 years. He was the treasurer of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and now attends St. Johns’ Episcopal Church both of Clearwater, FL. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, three sons Tony (Lynn Fox), Gary (Deb), and Louis (Stacy) as well as three step-children, Kathy Goldstone (Carolyn Palo), Mark Goldstone (Jackie), and Gregory Goldstone (Helen). He is also survived by his sister, Anne Labruzzo of Fishkill, NY, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons. The Celebration of his Life ("services") will be held on Saturday, January 30th @ 2pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1676 S. Belcher Rd , Clearwater, FL 33764, with a Reception to follow. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1676 S. Belcher Rd Clearwater, FL 33764 or Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760.
