Marie Catherine (Tharney) Casey

A resident of Florida since 1973, Marie was born Marie Catherine Tharney in Springfield Massachusetts on June 14, 1936. She was the second youngest of 6 children born to Bartholomew and Lillian Tharney.

Marie lived in both New Jersey and Florida during her childhood and adolescence before marrying the late James B. McHale. The couple had three sons - James, Timothy and Daniel.

In October 1973, Marie married the late Daniel L. Casey. The couple resided first in Tampa FL for many years before locating to the residence on St. Pete Beach.

Marie held positions in both New Jersey and Florida first as a medical practice administrative assistant and then a medical practice office manager, before she retired from the employ of the Tampa-based urology group practice of Drs. William T. Branch and Ronald Sadlowski.

Marie was an avid beach lover, enjoyed traveling, and was an aficionado of movie, theater and awards programs. She reminisced fondly about youthful acting turns she took in school productions including the lead role in "The Belle of Barcelona".

Marie is survived by son James, daughter-in-law Trang and grandchildren Hailey and Christopher McHale; by sons Timothy and Daniel McHale; by sister Rita Bare; by numerous nieces and nephews, the daughters and sons of Rita and departed siblings Alfred, Len, Joan, and Ted; and by the step-children and grandchildren from her 35-year marriage to Daniel Casey.
