She was born Lois Frances May Atkinson in her parent's home in Jenkinjones, West Virginia on Sunday, October 8, 1922. As a young child during revival meetings at the Jenkinjones United Methodist Church she placed her faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation and was baptized. In her teenage years, the family moved to Venus, West Virginia where she and her future brother-in-law, Alexander Forgacs graduated in 1939 at the age of 16 as the youngest graduating seniors from Gary High School. During her teenage and young adult years she worked in the town's coal mining company store where customers paid for their purchases with script instead of cash. She was a WWII bride and married at the age of 20. After the war she and her husband, Steve Forgacs moved to Winchester, Virginia where she worked at Mary Ann's, a women's exclusive boutique clothing store. In 1958 on a lark after vacationing in Florida they decided to make Clearwater their permanent home. After settling in Clearwater she became a cosmetologist and worked in that field for several years. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church of Clearwater and then Keene Terrace Baptist Church in Largo. She was a woman of sincere faith and a fervent believer in prayer and participated in the church prayer ministry, keeping notebooks of the prayer requests and answers to those prayers.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Steve A. Forgacs; her parents Jacob L. Atkinson and Eulala F. Atkinson; baby brother Curtis Lee Atkinson; and niece Rebecca Rogers.
