Lawrence E. Fuller fell asleep in Jesus on November 20, 2015 after a short illness, he was 93 years old. Born to George R. and Hattie M. Fuller in Oakland, ME, he was raised in the Waterville and Oakland area. He served his country as a mechanic in the US Army during WWII; and was part of a division that was attached to General Patton’s Army, supporting the troops in France and Germany. After returning from the war, he married his sweetheart Jean E. Hallock; they resided in the Waterville and Oakland area of Maine until moving to Clearwater, FL in 1956, where they resided until they moved to Dowling Park, FL in 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard, Harold, and Arnold, sisters Helen Wrigley, and Myrtle Fuller, as well as his wife Jean, and daughter Karen Koetje. He leaves behind daughter Sylvia Walker and son-in-law Rollo of Martin, GA, son David Fuller of Cross City, FL, daughter Laureen Fuller-Millett and son-in-law Hank of Saftey Harbor, FL, daughter Pamela Fuller of Clearwater, FL, and son-in-law Duane Koetje of Largo, FL. He also leaves 8 grand children, and 17 great-grand children, as well as a sister Lilly Shuman of Dowling Park, FL, a sister-in-law Eleanor Sherwood of Wallingford, CT, and many, many nieces and nephews. He was a life-long member of the Advent Christian Denomination, being actively involved in his local churches in Waterville, ME, Clearwater, FL, and Dowling Park, FL. He served the Clearwater church in any way he was able; singing in the choir, leading song services, holding a position on the board, as well as being a Deacon, and an Elder. A mechanic by trade, he worked for several dealerships in Clearwater, before becoming a Service Manager for Dayton Andrews in Clearwater, and retiring from Plaza Dodge in Tarpon Springs. After retirement he became involved in the restoration of antique, flywheel engines, and was an active member of the Florida Flywheelers club. He believed in the imminent return of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Watching the events of the world, be believed that the following passage of scripture was more true every day: Luke 21:10 – 11, 20 – 28: Then He (Jesus) said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. … “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” He also loved to sing songs about the return of Christ; a couple of his favorites were: Redemption Draweth Nigh: Years of time have come and gone Since I first heard it told, How Jesus would come again someday. If back then it seemed so real, Then I just can’t help but feel How much closer his coming is today. Chorus: Signs of the times are everywhere. There’s a brand new feeling in the air. Keep your eyes upon the eastern sky, Life up your heads, redemption draweth nigh! The King is Coming: The King is coming, The King is coming, I just heard the trumpet sounding, And now his face i see. Oh, The King is coming, The King is coming, Praise God He's coming for me! In lieu of flowers the family request that you consider making a donation the Advent Christian Village in Lawrence’s honor.
