Larry A. Damato

Lawrence (Larry) Damato 44, of Palm Harbor, passed away Wednesday August 12, 2015. Larry was born on October 3, 1970 in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is survived by his parents Nick Damato and Beverly (Robert) Thompson; brother Mike (Michelle) Damato and niece’s MacKenzie and Casey Damato. He also leaves behind Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many friends who loved him dearly.

Larry had a passion for the Special Olympics where he excelled at golf, bowling, and basket ball. He was very proud of his accomplishments, winning many gold medals and bowling tournaments. He graduated in 1992 from Paul B. Stephens Exceptional Student Center where he was awarded Student of the Year.

In 1990 he was honored by Countryside Mall as employee of the month where he worked as a porter in the food court. He was described as one of the mall’s hardest workers. He worked most recently at ARC/UPARC.

Larry loved music, loved to dance, loved to perform, he enjoyed watching wrestling especially Hulk Hogan. His favorite TV shows were Full House, Three’s Company, Dukes of Hazard, Brady Bunch

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday August 29, 2015 at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home. Friends are invited to stay for a reception following the service.
