Julius (Jules)Sinclair Smith III born October 4, 1947, passed away January 29, 2016 in Palm Harbor Fla., due to complications from pulmonary hypertension. He was a native of Charleston, S.C., son of Barbara and Julius Sinclair Smith, Jr. and grandson of Julia and Dr. Julius Sinclair Smith and Viola and William Watson Risher all of Charleston, S.C. Jules spent most of his professional life in the real estate business in S.C. and Fla. He was the author of “The Salesman’s Pocket Bible”, a guide book to expertise in the industry.
After retiring, he became senior licensed coordinator for N.C.S. in Fla. Jules proudly served his country during the Viet Nam War and was a decorated Marine Corps veteran. Jules’ love of America led him to become a member of many historical organizations and societies. He served as President of The Sons of the American Revolution, Fla. Chapter and was currently serving as Governor for the Jamestown Society, Fla. Chapter
He is survived by his daughters Brooke Atmar Smith, Julia Follin Smith and grandson Chase William Smith; sisters: Tricia Moore(Tom), Julia Drayton(Chad), Barbara (Chocky) Burks and Elizabeth Gantt Smith; nephews : Christopher McEniry, Charles and Gantt Drayton, Shelby and Matthew Burks.
Services will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Palm Harbor , Fla. Feb. 6th at 11am and memorial service and internment at St. Philips Church, Charleston, S.C. Feb 19th at 2pm.
