Johnson, Judy K. 78, passed away on May 28, 2020 under the care of Empath Hospice after an 18 month battle with cancer. Judy is survived by her husband, Dennis; children Denise Beil (Ted) and Eric Johnson; grandchildren Matthew Beil (Amanda) and Alexandra Beil; sister Mary Tarr; cat Sweetie; and grand-dog Naomi.
Judy was born and raised in Oskaloosa, Iowa and moved to Florida for the second and last time in 1980 after living in Wisconsin, Nebraska, Illinois, and Minnesota.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, Homer and Lois Tarr and she did a wonderful job caring for them in their later years. She was a graduate of Oskaloosa high school and retired from Nielsen in 1996. Judy enjoyed RV adventures and traveling with her husband Dennis which included many trips to Iowa, two trips to Alaska, all 50 states, Canadian provinces, and international cities.
Judy enjoyed reading, ice cream, cooking, orchids, and spending time with her family.
Judy particularly enjoyed Christmas. She always made sure that the presents were equal and that there would be enough cookies, typically baking five of more kinds on her own plus delegating several others! Her family eagerly anticipated her vegetable pizza and home-made fudge.
No formal services are planned. If you would like to commemorate Judy’s life, consider a donation to The Morton Plant Mease Foundation or the charity of your choice.
