Joseph Douglas Rocheleau, affectionately known as “Papa” by his 6 grandchildren is no longer with us and comfortably with his Father in Heaven. Pops passed away suddenly at age 79, his life was full of adventure and memories that he shared with his bride of 52 years, Maria.
Joseph leaves a legacy of serving others rooted in his Christian faith. His early career was in culinary arts and with his gifts and talents he served many church missions, helping neighbors and friends. He and Maria’s passion was to help real estate clients and their families to find new homes, a vocation which they did together for over 30 years. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren which he invested all his time and energy in.
Joseph leaves behind 5 children, oldest Lennie Rocheleau with granddaughter Lauryn, Eddie Rocheleau, Charlie Rocheleau (Kelly) with grandkids Sarah and Calvin, Nicole Spencer (Ron) with daughter Olivia, Katherine (Kat) Gardner (Ken) with grandkids Sam and Archie.
Joseph was born in McGregor, Ontario Canada, the youngest child of William and Marie Louise (Drouillard) Rocheleau, he was predeceased by all his siblings, Evelyn, Hilda, Theresa, Elizabeth, William, Marguerite, and Mary Anne.
He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in Canada the US and the Netherlands.
Per his request a cremation has taken place and a celebration of life for Joseph will be held on January 18, 2025 at Harborside Christian Church in Safety Harbor, Florida at 11:00am. There will be a reception at the church following the service.
