John F Fiore Sr.

John F. Fiore Sr., age 89, passed away on September 25, 2017 in Clearwater, Florida. He was born October 4, 1927 in Minersville, PA, son of the late Matteo Fiore and Sylvia (Roanoke) Fiore. John attended Central High School in Scranton, PA. He received an athletic scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh where he was a member of Pitt Football team. He served in the US Army, stationed in the Phillipines, in 1946. John married the love of his life, Mary Marjorie (Doyle) Fiore on May 3, 1952. The couple was blessed with four children: James Patrick, John Jr., Joseph and Mary Ellen. New Jersey was home to John, Marge and the children. John was a Prudential Agent. In 1976, the family relocated to Florida, and John continued on with Prudential in Seminole, Florida. John was actively involved in St. Brendan Catholic Church in Clearwater, Florida. He was an usher, member of the Navigator’s Men’s Club and member of the Knights of Columbus (4th degree knight). He was a member of the VFW in Clearwater. John loved visiting his children and grandchildren, had a passion for travel and enjoyed sports. John is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marge Fiore; Mr. & Mrs. James Patrick Fiore (son) of Clearwater, FL; Mr. & Mrs. John F. Fiore, Jr. (son) of Pittsburgh, PA; preceased by Joseph A. Fiore (son); Mr. & Mrs. Mary Ellen Fiore/Krutsinger (daughter) of Clearwater, FL. John was blessed with a total of 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. John loved God, his family & friends and his country. He will be forever missed.
