December 21st, 1937 – February 25th, 2023
It was the Fourth Friday of the month, in February, shortly before Midnight on the 24th Day, that Joan Marie became absent from her body to be present with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born (December 21st, 1937) to Luke & Leona (Butler) Rhoad, in Oak Park, IL., she entered life destined to minister grace and service to family, friends and strangers alike. She fulfilled her destiny in a most beautiful way.
She is survived by her loving husband, William Loucks, (3) sons - Lincoln (Mabeth), Scott (Lisa), and William (Tammy); brother – Tom Rhoad (10) grandchildren, (16) great- grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Luke & Leona “Sis” Rhoad, her sisters Carol Eldon (twin), and Barbara Kirberger.
As a model of Christian living, Joan served the Lord faithfully; in His Church, to her family, her neighbors and community, her students and towards strangers. This service was born out of her love for Christ. She most enjoyed teaching Sunday School for over 60 years.
Joan’s love for the Lord will live on forever, in Glory and in the hearts of those she left behind.
A visitation for Joan will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd., Clearwater, FL 33759. A funeral service will start for Joan at 10:00 am with a graveside to follow. A reception will occur immediately after the graveside.
