She was born on June 28, 1922 in Batvia, New York to the late Hobart and Verna Heddon.
Jean graduated from Leroy High School in Leroy New York in 1940. There she was on the cheerleading team and a member of the National Honors Society. Following her graduation she attended Rochester Business Institute.
Locally Jean worked for Honeywell as an Executive Secretary, retiring for the third time at age 92. While she was employed, Jean was a member of the Honeybell’s volunteering her time at many local events throughout the years.
She also enjoyed volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and the Clearwater Free Clinic.
In her free time, Jean enjoyed walking, jigsaw puzzles, games, bingo, gardening and traveling. Most of all, family was the most important thing to her. She was proud to be the “Matriarch” of her very extensive family and was known as the family treasure.
Jean is survived by her children, Robert (Barbara) Heimlich, Barbara Heimlich, Nancy Holler; grandchildren, Todd (Cyndi) Heimlich, Amber (Ray) Murr, Tracey (Joey) Thomson, Stacey (Douglas) Burnett, Corrie (Tony) Henderson, Ashley (Manny) Quinones; great-grandchildren, Jeremy (Lauren) Robinson, Arthur Paula, Slaydon Buckley, Trenton Buckley, Bryson Kagawa, Ty Henderson, Hayden Henderson, Jackson Henderson, Carter Henderson, Kayli Quinones, Silas Murr, Nolan Murr, Kayleigh Burnett, Avanti Burnett; great great-grandchildren, Sofia Paula, Hannah Robinson; many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her siblings, Doris Mancuso and Elsie Weidrich.
A gathering for Jean will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Suncoast Hospice Foundation where she spent her last days under extraordinary care.
