Janet was born in Cleveland, OH, February 24, 1947 to Norma Jean (Banks) Wallace and Edward Tombow. She grew up in California, and spent most of her working career in management and operations for several nationally known companies specializing in the payroll tax industry.
She wrote her first book, Stolen But Not Lost, to share her life story and the search for (and wonderful reunion with), her birth mother. This book led to a second career as an author and inspirational speaker. Her next two books, Watch Out For Miracles and Miracles Matter tell the inspiring stories of others. She was hard at work on another book when she became ill with an aggressive form of Wegener’s Disease.
Jan loved the Lord with all her heart, and was a very active member of Lakeview Baptist Church. She was known for her sharp mind, keen wit, positive outlook, and giving spirit. She loved speaking, reading, travelling, and especially serving the Lord in her local church.
Jan is survived by two nieces and several cousins, along with many close friends.
A private burial service, near her beloved mother, was held at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service service will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church, 1430 Belleair Road, Clearwater at 11am Saturday, July 12th. Memorial contributions can be made to Lakeview Baptist Church or the Humane Society.
