James Edward Rawe

James Edward Rawe, 86, of Clearwater, FL, passed away on September 5, 2022 at home. He was born and raised in Newport Kentucky and graduated from Newport Catholic High School. Jim loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed cooking, travel, playing games, telling jokes, and Christmas. He is survived by his wife Barbara Sparks Rawe, his brother Harold Rawe and sister Marlene Reinert, his three children: Jim Rawe, Jr., Amy Vassallo, and Melissa Kelly, his two son-in-laws: Ricky Vassallo and Martin Kelly, his seven grandchildren: Jenna, Katie, Jay, Ali, Cara, Ty, and Jessalyn, his four great-grandchildren: Adalynn, SJ, Mason, and Emmy along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to either Cure Alzheimer’s Fund or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

A visitation for James will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 from 1:00pm to 1:30pm at St. Cecelia Catholic Church, 820 Jasmine Way Bld B, Clearwater, FL 33756 with a a funeral mass to follow at 1:30pm. A committal service will occur Friday, September 9, 2022 at 3:00pm at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 5233 118th Avenue North, Clearwater, FL 33760. The reception will follow on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 3:30pm at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759.
