James Blaeser was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 21st, 1927. He had four siblings, Joan, Bobby, Tony, and Georgie. He served in the armed forces when he got out of high school and travelled across the Pacific on a Victory class ship to Japan. Upon returning home he met and married Ellen Parker on December 28th, 1957. They had four children, Jane, Wayne, Melissa and John. James leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Sherri, Bobby, Brian, Tony, Jackie and James. He and Ellen were also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Garrett who is with them now, Aidan and Rylan. Family was the most important thing to him and he was deeply proud of all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Aside from family, our dad loved fishing, hunting, golf and poker. Golf was in his blood from an early age as he, his father and brothers golfed together often. When he was 6 years he met his best friend Mickey Walsh, and it was with Mickey that he learned his love of fishing, beginning with walleye and bass in Illinois and Wisconsin. He eventually moved on to salt water fishing as his building career took his family to Miami Beach. Many of the family photos are centered around the outdoors. He instilled a love of the outdoors in his children. In his later years James enjoyed playing Texas Hold-em with friends and participating in poker tournaments. His quick mind and affinity for numbers made him a pretty good player.
James began his career in development just after his marriage to Ellen, beginning as a salesman in a subdivision in the Chicago area. He found his calling in the field and became a successful builder in several areas around the country. He built homes, condominiums, commercial buildings and made many lifelong friends along the way.
James and Ellen were married for 60 years. They travelled the world, loved their family and made many good lifelong friends. Ellen was the love of his life. It is comforting to know that they are together now, looking down on us with love and approval.
