SPATUZZI, Frank of Clearwater, passed away Jan. 13th. He was born in Vauxhall, NJ. Frank was a land developer, a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church; a retired Lt. in the Coast Guard, WW II veteran, as well as a Purple Heart recipient. He was elected to Seton Hall Athletic Hall of Fame, Baseball 1981 and enshrined in Newark Athletic Hall of Fame, Baseball 1996. Frank built the St. Peter's Orphanage, Denville, NJ, was the Executive Administrator of the Emla Rimelspacher Scholarship Fund and his military awards are on display in the Coast Guard section of the Armed Forces Military Museum, Largo. He was honored last September by the Stand & Salute American Heroes at the Ray's Game in Tropicana field, where he threw out the first pitch. Frank is survived by his wife Inge; sons Michael Spatuzzi, John Spatuzzi, Geoffrey Supple, Gary Supple; daughters Carol Ford, Monica Kluge, Elizabeth McLoughlin, Lisa Supple; and nine grandchildren. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated Saturday, 1 pm at St. Cecelia Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Armed Forces Military Museum, 2050 34th Way North, Largo, FL 33771.
