Eleanor M . Shearer

Eleanor was the second child born to Elsie Crouthamel Heimbach and Allen R. Heimbach Sr. in Quakertown, PA on August 18, 1932. She attended Richlandtown Grade School and Quakertown High School. Eleanor married John T. Shearer Sr. on June 17, 1951 and they enjoyed 62 wonderful years together.

Eleanor held various factory jobs, but her favorite occupation was owner/manager of Shearer Guest House in Ocean City, NJ. She cared for hundreds of guests over 20 years at two locations.

As an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, she participated in the choir, yearly rummage sales, caring for members, ushering, and serving as a Eucharistic minister. Eleanor enjoyed participating in bowling leagues NJ and Dunedin, FL. Interested in exercise, she attended exercise classes at Top of the World and walked hundreds of miles through the community. Serving as co-captain of the Polynesian Building for a decade, Eleanor helped plan activities for the residents.

Eleanor is survived by husband, John T. Shearer Sr., and children: Bonnie, John and Lori. She also has eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Dunedin, FL on June 23, at 2:00pm.
