Preceded in death by his parents, Grace and James Moore, Brooke is survived by his loving wife, Margy. Brooke has seven siblings, Kim Jacks, Kerry Gratz, Evan Moore, Kristine Moore, Kathy Russell, Kelly Gehrsitz, and Kasey Cursey.
Born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 7, 1946, he grew up primarily in Miami and Melbourne. He was a graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in Education and he taught troubled youth through Family Services for 4 years in Tampa, Florida. He later relocated to Clearwater, where he taught elementary school in Pinellas County Schools for 27 years. He was a natural born teacher!
Brooke was a dedicated, loving husband to Margy and they shared 17 wonderful years together as a couple. They especially loved the outdoors, whether it be fishing, walking the beach or in a park, or enjoying his love of car racing. He was an avid Rays fan as well!
He treasured times with family, and especially when his 27 nieces and nephews were around to celebrate any occasion.
Brooke was truly “one of the good guys!” His unbelievable capacity to spread goodwill to others even while enduring his severe medical complications is the essence of this kind, sensitive man. He touched and enriched our lives immensely and will be forever missed.
“It’s not the years of his life, but the life in his years.” Peace be with you, Brooke. Due to the current circumstances, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
