Dorothy M Smallwood

Dorothy Mae (Dot) Smallwood passed away peacefully on January 1, 2018 in Holiday, Florida. Dorothy was born on January 5, 1934 in Gulfport, Mississippi and married her husband, William O. Smallwood, on December 19, 1954, also in Gulfport Mississippi. They moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida in 1956/1957 and later relocated to Clearwater, Florida in 1960. Dorothy and William raised three sons, Robert W. Smallwood, James V. Smallwood and Daniel D. Smallwood. Dorothy also enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren, Kyle, Kristan, Austin, and Bryan and five great grandchildren, Brynn, Cole, James, Grace, and Thomas. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 2006 and her parents Carlton and Mildred Jordan. Dorothy will be remembered for her big smile and her ability to engage anyone she met in conversation. She will be missed by her sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren as well as the many people whose lives she touched. The family is especially grateful to the Sunshine Christian Home staff for the tremendous care and love they provided to Dorothy the past 2 years. In keeping with the wishes of Dorothy, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, gifts to the Alzheimer's Assocation, www.alz.org, Sunshine Christian Home, www.sunshinechristianhomes.org, or Gulfside Hospice, www.ghppc.org will be appreciated
