Diana Lynn Cichowicz was the youngest of four children. Her siblings, Tom Cichowicz, Geraldine McBee (predeceased) and Joann Romanowski, grew up in Dearborn, Michigan. Diana’s parents Thomas Cichowicz and Jennie Flisnik Cichowicz (both predeceased) owned businesses in the area including the local pub. Diana was proud of her Polish heritage and loved cooking the family recipes that had been passed down to her. In her youth she had many hobbies to keep her busy, but her heart’s passion was horseback riding. Diana never passed up an opportunity to run a horse whether it was in the ring or out on a country trail. Diana and her family moved to Florida when she was still in primary school. Her father Tom, bought a fish camp in Ozona and this is where the family settled their roots. Diana enjoyed all that living on the water had to offer; boating, fishing or swimming off their dock with the family dog Duke. Diana could also be found dancing the Jitter Bug while blaring the music of the King of Rock n’ roll, Elvis Presley. Her and her family was also parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes in Dunedin. In her late teens, Diana met and fell in love with a young man named John Walters. The two lovebirds went on to have five children Barbara Fedele, Ginger Walters, Lisa Walters, Sheldon Walters and Frankie Acosta. The couple was married, at the time of her passing, a whopping 49 years! Diana and John enjoyed many wonderful years together, had many exciting adventures but most of shared a love like no other. The couple loved to spend their summers at the cabin in the beautiful mountains of Murphy, NC. Dianna could often be found floating on a tube in the chilly waters of the creek that ran behind the cabin or picking blackberries that grew in abundance in briars next to nature trails. She always looked forward to the relaxing magnificent landscape of the mountains, the smell and warmth of a burning camp fire and the all-encompassing darkness that surrounded the cabin at nightfall. Diana was a free spirited, caring, loving, intelligent woman. Her smile and laugh are unforgettable. She always fully committed herself to any endeavor, whether it was her support and guidance as a wife and mother, her success as a financial manager, or her unyielding loyalty as a friend. Diana would not want her family and friends to mourn her, but to celebrate the absolute and utter joy that was her life; to remember all the heartwarming memories that they created with her; to remember her beautiful smile and above all remember that she loved them dearly. Diana’s vessel may have left this world but her spirit and love will always remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Diana you were the best wife, Mother, Sister and friend any one could ask for. Thank you for all that you did, all that you were and all that you will remain. You will always be missed and you will always be loved! Diana is survived by her Husband John Walters, and her Children Barbara, Ginger, Lisa, Sheldon and Frankie; her grandchildren Mary, Toni, Chelsea, Christian, Tori, Lilly, Gianna, and Mara; her great grandchild Cameron; her sister Joann, her brother Tom; nieces Valerie, Marci, Julie, and Jennifer; and her Nephew Tony.
