Dian Johnston

Passed away August 23, 2022, at the age of 83, from a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Dian grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and graduated from LSU. She moved to Clearwater, Florida in 1961 where she was married to the love of her life of 60 years, Bill Johnston. Dian was a long-standing member of Calvary Church of Clearwater for many years. Dian was devout in her beliefs, and she spoke fondly and frequently of Christ’s love and teachings. She and Bill also attended First Baptist Church of Crystal River. Dian served on the board of the Homeless Empowerment Program (HEP) and supported her husband, Bill, in building the HEP free dental clinic to provide those in need with life-changing health care. This was among the most fulfilling experiences of their lives.

Dian was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Dian enjoyed spending time with her friends, and she maintained many dear life-long friendships. She was an avid gardener with a love for birds and bunnies, which her garden is a sanctuary for.

Dian is survived by her brother, Bert Lent (ReLeah), her two daughters, Paula (Albert) and Julie (Steve), her grandchildren: Cody, Riley, Clay, Carson, Cooper, Diana, Emily, and Albert, and her great-grandson Bryson.
