Delma G. Johnson age 93 of Clearwater Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Delma was born June 14, 1928 and was raised in Gainesboro, Tennessee. She attended Stone Elementary School and graduated Jackson County high school in the class of 1945. She became the wife of Herbert Johnson in 1948. In 1959 they made their home in Clearwater Florida. Delma was dedicated to raising her family and enjoyed being a homemaker.
She served at Skycrest United Methodist Church where she had many roles over the years from Sunday school teacher to leading United Methodist women groups. Her service at the church brought her great joy. Through the church she became one of the first volunteers at the Clearwater food pantry. Her life was about devotion to family and service to others all accomplished with a great sense of determination and love for life.
In the later years Delma and Herbert enjoyed traveling for leisure and being grandparents and great grandparents.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Herbert Johnson, son David, son Mark, daughter Cindy Lockler (Dan), her grandchildren; Rachel, Michael, Stephen, Paul (Nina), great-grandchildren; Lillian, Evelyn, and Vivian.
A private service will be held February 4 with interment at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be held at Skycrest Methodist Church at a later date.
