Born in DC at Georgetown University to Edward & Teressa Hove. Her family relocated to Clearwater, Florida when she was a small child and where she lived out her life.
Throughout her younger years her passion was for cheerleading, influenced by her father’s love for football. She cheered from an early age through high school and became the youngest Buccaneers cheerleader to make the squad at 17 years old. She also cheered professionally for the Tampa Bay Bandits and Thrillers for several years.
Carol always knew early on that she wanted nursing to be her profession. She graduated from Florida State University Nursing School as a Registered Nurse and worked in various specialties from ICU to Endoscopy in her 38 year career, primarily for Morton Plant Hospital. In and outside of her profession she shared her great capacity for kindness and caring for those in need.
Carol loved children and volunteered for the Boys & Girls Club for many years sharing her love for cheerleading, giving many young girls confidence, spirit and pride.
Her most cherished role in life was as a mother for which she devoted everything to nurturing, encouraging and supporting her daughter Evelyn’s growth, dreams and endeavors.
Carol touched many people’s lives with great kindness. She made those she cared for feel comforted and appreciated. She made her friends and family feel the love she held in her heart for them. She was the type of friend you could count on if you needed her.
She was the cherished mother of Evelyn, the adored sister of David (Sonnia), and Stephen (Mary Ellen) and the beloved daughter of Louise.
Predeceased by her father Edward, mother Teressa and brother Edward.
Carol lived life to the fullest with joy and enthusiasm, with a love for all nature has to offer from sunsets on the beach to rolling rivers through the mountains. She will truly be missed.
A Celebration of her Life Gathering will be 11-2 Sunday April 23rd at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd. Clearwater ,Florida 33759.
