BATTLE, Carl Milton 79 of Clearwater Florida passed away July 15, 2014. He was born in Miami and relocated to Clearwater in 1996. During his working years he was employed by the Miami Herald Newspaper for over 30 years. Carl was a US Navy Veteran, loved country music and NASCAR, and was a fun loving person and devoted father. He is predeceased by his wife Phyllis Battle. Carl and Phyllis were married for 35 years. Survivors include daughters Jodi Leisure of Clearwater and Monika Cramer (Brian) of Palm Beach FL, and grandchildren Lauren Leisure, Gregory Leisure and Matthew Leisure. Funeral services are planned for Friday July 18, 2014 at 10 am at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home 2550 Sunset Point Road in Clearwater FL.
