Betty "Betsy" J. Tight

Betsy was born in Glasgow, Montana, February 24, 1941. She graduated from Tullahoma High School in Tennessee in 1959. She attended Pensacola Junior College in Florida, 1959 - 1961. She married James L. Tight on October 9, 1965.

In addition to her role as a loving and wonderful wife and mother, Betsy served as Treasurer with the Kinnelon Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary in New Jersey, School Volunteer for the Medina city school system, Treasurer for Medina Rangers Soccer organization, President of Siena Sunshine and Sewing Clubs, and active member of Palm Harbor Newcomers Club.

Betsy enjoyed athletics, playing basketball, golf, and racquetball, as well as knitting, sewing, gardening, cooking, and watching all sports. She was also an avid world traveler and visited 65 countries throughout her life.

More than anything, Betsy loved her children and grandchildren, and they in turn adored her. She was an integral part of their lives from day one, and cherished every laugh, hug, and moment shared with them.

Betsy is survived by her husband of 57 years James L. Tight, son Douglas Tight (wife Amy), daughter-in-law Debbie Tight (husband Tom), and grandchildren Alexander, Madison, Jessica, and Louis. She was preceded in death by her son Jay Tight.

Betsy leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, optimism, and love. So much love. Love for others, and love for life.

A memorial service for Betsy will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 2853 SUNSET POINT RD, CLEARWATER, FL 33759.
