Bernice Marie Reiner Policastro was born in Union City, NJ on December 3rd, 1927. Bernice was a practicing Catholic who received all of the sacraments. She graduated Holy Family High School and Drake Business School. Later in life, she attended Fairleigh Dickinson University. She married her husband Anthony on May 29, 1948. With her husband, they formed TOBE Packing Company in 1956, which produced corned beef, and later Piedmont which produced Italian sausage. Bernice worked in the business in the early years as a bookkeeper. They lived in North Bergen, Hackensack, and Woodcliff Lake, NJ. Her husband Anthony passed away in 1981. After his passing, she had various jobs including working at the Woodcliff Lake Borough Hall. She moved to Florida in 1999. She lived in Palm Harbor, Trinity, and Weston Florida. She did volunteer work at Countryside Mease Hospital and at St Ignatius in Tarpon Springs. Bernice was a good cook and baker and enjoyed entertaining in her home. She loved to dance, attend Broadway plays in particular musicals, and enjoyed travel to the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, and China. Bernice had a wonderful sense of humor and was easygoing by nature. Bernice was a loving mother and she is survived by her four children James, Peter, Bernice, and Anthony Jr. She has 8 grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews she loved.
