She passed away peacefully of natural causes in her Lake Worth, Florida home, just three months after the passing of her beloved husband, Horton "Bill" Rogers on March 24, 2017. The two love birds were married as high school sweethearts in 1951.
She will be remembered as a loving woman, who deeply cared about her family. She demonstrated a concern for all animals and had a special love of cats. Ann was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Emily Flynn, her husband, Patrick, and their daughter, Kelli Anne.
She is also survived by her son, Timothy Manning Rogers, his wife, Belinda, and their five children: Ty Rogers (Jennifer) and their daughter, Arya; Carrie Barcia (Patrick) and children: Haylee Barclay, Justin Lund, Jessie Lund, Cody Barcia, Dalton Barcia, Logan Barcia, and Blane Barcia; Jared Rogers (Kylie) and their son, Camden; Bonnie Northsea (Mike) and their sons, Behr and Willem; Kyle Rogers (Amanda) and their son, Hernan. She is also survived by her niece, Cindy Brochure of Oak Island, North Carolina.
Annabelle was born on May 16, 1932 to Stuart Maier and Emily Brown in St. Louis, Missouri.
After moving to Florida from Missouri in 1959, she became active in a variety of charitable organizations: those closest to her heart were always animal rescues. She was quite the athlete and active in softball, racquetball and golf.
She briefly worked at a zoo to save up money for her first monkey but was "politely asked to leave" after orchestrating the escape of the mice otherwise destined to become snake food. Off they went and so did she. Still, she had her money to pay for her first monkey, Monk, and later a second monkey, Cindy.
She enjoyed antiquing and collecting almost anything - especially coins, stamps, buttons and beanie babies. Later, she enjoyed selling almost anything - including everything she had collected. It was the research and discovery process that she loved so much: hunting down and finally finding the precise age, history, and value of each item.
Ann was quite creative. She was skilled at drawing and painting as well as making, painting and selling ceramics, especially, unique chess sets. She enjoyed flying and sailing with her husband and, later, RV travelling around the country and Canada with her husband, Bill and grandchildren.
Rest now, momma, comfortably in the arms of the angels.
