Angela Palomá Vizcaya McComas died on March 19, 2023. She was born on May 31,1937 in Cali, Colombia, South America. Ms. McComas is predeceased by her husband, Robert Lee McComas. She is survived by her son, Steven McComas and his wife, Jennifer, and son, David McComas. She is also survived by her long time friend and companion Mark Waldron. Angela is cherished and remembered by her granddaughter, Anna Maria McComas along with her brother, sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her sister, Aura Gomez, Colombia, South America, Maria Ulbrich, Tarpon Springs, Florida, Ofelia Nobs, Belprahon, Switzerland, Mario Palomá and wife, Julia, Tampa, Florida. Ms. McComas is predeceased by her parents, Felix Palomá and Barbarita Vizcaya de Palomá, her sister, Rosa Herrera, and brothers, Azael Palomá and Dr. Luis Palomá.
She was previously employed as a secretary with several companies in Cali, Colombia. Angela was offered the opportunity to travel to Orlando, Florida ultimately making the decision to move to the United States in 1964. She moved to Dunedin, Florida working as a seamstress in her home while she was a stay at home mother. As her business grew, Angela began her bridal store, Angela’s Bridal. Later, Ms. McComas assisted her son, David, with his Subway Franchises. Whether being a sandwich artist or assisting with the management of the individual stores, Ms. McComas provided administrative support.
She enjoyed traveling and visiting friends and family from Europe to South America. Her memory lives on with her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who live all over the world. She has always been strong willed and demanding in her expectations of her own life as well as others around her. She encouraged the her family to be successful. The entire family knew that Angela would provide help and support in any way, for any task that needed to be accomplished.
Angela valued her long term friendships that spanned her lifetime. She had an enduring faith and remained a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dunedin, Florida. Her faith was strong and she lived her faith by active daily devotionals and praying for her friends and family which now will be felt from heaven.
