Alice A Zurn, 72, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away Sunday, October 23th in her home in Dunedin, Fl surrounded by her family.
Alice devoted her life to raising her children, caring for her parents and enjoying her grandchildren. She grew up in Lyncourt, a small suburb in Syracuse, NY and graduated from Central Tech High School where she met and later married the love of her life, Edward Zurn. They built a life on Barnside Lane in Liverpool until Alice relocated to Florida in 2007. She enjoyed reading, writing and sharing her love for our Father, Jesus Christ. Among her proudest accomplishments was the completion of her unpublished book, “As Always, Alice”. Alice will be remembered for her big smiles, long chats, passionate storytelling and cutting up the dance floor with her Ed.
Alice is predeceased by her husband, Edward J Zurn Sr., her parents, John and Mary Napolitano and her sister Janet (Chester) Watson. Alice is survived by their four children, Edward J Zurn Jr. of Largo, Mari-Kristine (Jeff) Neyhart of Syracuse, Susan (Justin) Rose of Tampa, Michael J Zurn of Largo; grandchildren Kristina (Shane) Medley, Kathleen (Alec) Kenyon, Gabriel and Natalie Rose, Nicholas and Nathan Zurn, Amberly (John) Spatafore and Max Neyhart; eight great grandchildren children; sisters, Marion Dobkins of FL, Kathy Bass of FL, Diane (George) Fleming of FL, Annmarie (Duane) Bratz of Syracuse; brother, Ralph (Gail) Napolitano as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A small service is planned for 1pm at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Syracuse on Thursday, November 17 with a celebration of life reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Empath Health Hospice @ 5771 Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, FL 33760.
