Virginia was a wonderful baker, known especially for her pies. She enjoyed baking for others and would frequently show up at your doorstep with a freshly baked pie in hand. She loved growing up on her parents’ dairy farm and in turn became an avid gardener. Virginia enjoyed attending local concerts and plays with friends. She was a lover of music and all things Irish. Virginia was the go to person for her family and friends and she took great pride in helping others whenever she could. She valued family history and did her best to pass it on to the younger generations. More than anything, though, she loved her role as “G.G." to her grandchildren and “Aunt G” to her nieces and nephews and their children. She loved the children in her life and made the time she spent with them as special as possible.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Claude R. Bloom, whom she married September 23, 1961 at the Curwensville Presbyterian Church, two children; Rich Bloom and his wife Barb of Cresco and Jennifer Moore and her husband Martin of Curwensville, four grandchildren; Nicholas Bloom and Anne, Tessa and Maizy Hoover and two sisters; Barbara Wise and her husband William of Ansonville and Gwen McCartney and her husband Bruce of Kerrmoor.
