Born on January 26, 1919 in Morrisdale, PA, she was the daughter of Floyd and Mae (Rolley) Pelton.
Mrs. Peters was a homemaker. She had been employed by Kurtz Brothers and Sylvania for several years.
She was a member of West Side United Methodist Church, where she was a former member of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Peters was a former member of the Clearfield Women's Club and the Hobby Garden Club. She also served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years.
Mrs. Peters is survived by two daughters, Shelia A. Reed and her husband Don of Clearfield and Debi D. Knapp and her husband Jeff of Brockway; six grandchildren: Heather Reed Haney and her husband Matt, Franklin Duprez, Jr., John Duprez, Candy Duprez, Kristen Buchanan and her husband Justin and Chelsie Knapp and seven great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Peters is preceded in death by her parents; her husband James H. Peters, whom she married on May 17, 1948 and who died on November 20, 2006; a son, Franklin Duprez; a grandson, Donnie Reed, Jr.; four sisters, Mildred Burke, Vivian Histerman, Virginia Williams and Ruth Baranchak; four brothers, Fred Pelton, Theodore Pelton, Robert Pelton and Roy Pelton, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM at West Side United Methodist Church with Dr. Jolene Willis and Mr. Richard Barkley co-officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Thursday, September 9, 2010 from 6:00-9:00 PM and at the church on Friday from 9:00 AM until the hour of services.
