He was born in Bellefonte on December 14, 1932, the onlychild of the late Russel J. and
Helen P. Lambert. On August 1, 1953 he married Euetta H. Miller.
He was a graduate of Bellefonte High School in 1952. Mr. Lambert was a veteran
of the United States Army having served in the Korean Conflict. He started working in
construction for PennDOT prior to entering the military service. After returning
from military service he resumed working for PennDOT, working in several
different positions including soils engineering. He retired in 1983 with 30 years of
service including prior employment with the Pennsylvania Fish Commission and
his military service. In his early retirement years he worked part time at Bennett
and Houser Funeral Home, Inc.
Mr. Lambert was a long time member of the West Side United Methodist Church,
where he served on the Administrative Board for 25 years, being Chairman of the
Board for 24 years.
He had been a life time member of the former Third Ward Hose Company, where
he served as president, the former Clearfield County Volunteer Firemen
Association, and Clearfield Volunteer Fire Department Fair and Park Board where
he had served as president. He was a member of the Central District Volunteer
Firemen Association and held memberships with the Jaffa Shrine of Altoona, the
Clearfield Shrine Club where he served as president for five years, the Clearfield
Lodge F & AM No 314, consistory Scottish Rite Valley of Williamsport, Clearfield
Elks No 540, American Legion Post No. 6 where he was past commander and
Order of Eagles No. 812 where he was past president and chaplain.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Lambert is survived by two daughters; Glenda Knisley and her husband, Robert, of Rockton and Debra Centra and her husband, Vincent, of Frenchville. Also surviving is one granddaughter, Kristen Knisley, of Rockton.
Funeral services will be held at Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield
on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 6:00 PM with the Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis
officiating. Interment will be in Centre County Memorial Park, State College.
Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Clearfield American
Legion Post #6 and the VFW Post #1785 Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 16th
from 2:00 until the hour of the service at 6PM.
