John J. Gill Jr.

He was born May 29, 1962 in Wilkes-Barre, the son of Pastor John J. Sr. and Martha J. (Newberry) Gill.

John was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School, Class of 1980.

He had been employed by Glenn Irvine Coal Company and currently Lezzer Lumber Company for 35 years.

John was affiliated with the Apostolic Believers Tabernacle.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved hunting and camping. John was always a beacon of light to all our family and friends. He was always telling us jokes and keeping us laughing no matter what he was going through.

John is survived by his father of Clearfield, two sisters; Doreen “Dori” Brady and her husband Edward of Clearfield and Stacey Lanager of Beech Creek, PA, three nieces and one nephew; Nikki Harber, Travis Brady and his companion Britney Brock and her children, Brycen and Braylee Pollick and Cynthia and Kayla Rainey and two great nieces; Jaydyn Rainey and Brienna “Brie” Harber.

He was preceded in death by his mother, a great niece, MarLeah Harber and a brother-in-law, Willard “Beany” Lanager.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 4:00 PM.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the hour of services.
