He was born November 20, 1948 in Clearfield, the son of Thomas F. and Mary Lee (McGovern) Leigey, Sr.
Mr. Leigey had worked as a bulldozer operator for Earthmovers, retiring in 2000.
He was Catholic by Faith.
Ed was a United States Army Veteran having served as a gunner during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6.
He loved his antique cars especially his “64” Thunderbird.
Edmond is survived by his wife of 54 years, Clara M. (Beldin) Leigey, having been married on May 4, 1968 in Driftwood, three children; Edmond D. Leigey, Jr. (Lisa) of Stanton, KY, Robert D. Leigey, Sr. (Dianna) of Lampasas, TX and Edmond D. Leigey III of Frenchville, five grandchildren; Eugena A. Roland, Robert D. Leigey, Jr., Jennie Lee Leigey, Ira Heaxt and Daniel Leigey, four great grandchildren; Madeline, MaKenna, and Alyssa Mitchell and D.J. Roland, six siblings; Thomas Leigey, Jr. (Grace), Judy Buck (Roger), Patsy English (Sam) all of Frenchville, Barbie Maines of Ohio, David Leigey (Becky) and Jenny Shirey (Bill) all of Frenchville and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, a sister, Brenda Stiner and father and mother-in-law, Clyde and Jennie Beldin.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Rev. Raymond Stiner officiating. Interment will be in Gillingham Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Clearfield Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 6 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the hour of services.
