Betty Jane Miller

She was born August 28, 1926 in Lewistown, PA, the daughter of the late Harry S. and Tressie E. (Baker) Wagner.

Mrs. Miller had worked at the Clearfield Municipal Authority and the Clearfield Hospital.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield, served on various church committees, and was a Sunday school teacher. She also belonged to the Friendship Class of the church.

Mrs. Miller was a Brownie, Girl Scout leader, and a member of the NON Club.

She is survived by four children: Bonnie Johnson and her husband, Charles, Carole Horm and her fiancé, Larry Leigey, Jennifer Hudson and her husband, Edward, all of Clearfield, and Jay R. “Rick” Miller, Jr. and his wife, Carol “Jean”, of Mechanicsburg, PA; four grandchildren;: Wendy Sue Stoner and her husband Michael, of Shiremanstown, PA, Clint Horm, of Penfield, Tiffany Irwin and her husband Neal, of Hyde, PA and Jessica Szlasa and her husband, Tim, of Clearfield; eleven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother Dick Wagner, and wife, Dorothy of Lewistown, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jay R. Miller whom she married on April 21, 1946 and who passed away on February 26, 2002, four brothers, and six sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Robert Stump officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 5 to 8 PM and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of the services.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Capital Fund, 121 S. 2nd Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
