Andrew Jay Shugarts

He was born January 18, 1938 in Clearfield, the son of Joseph and Mary (Jury) Shugarts.

Andrew was a graduate of Clearfield High School. While in high school he competed in wrestling at the state level.

Mr. Shugarts worked for Penelec at the Shawville Power Plant retiring in 1993.

He had coached little league for various teams and enjoyed league bowling and hunting.

Andrew is survived by his three children; Sandee Smeal and her husband Donald of Irvona, Brenda English and her husband Ed of Philipsburg and Brian Shugarts and his wife Kathy of Clearfield, six grandchildren; Shana Smeal, Don Smeal, Justine Washic (Ethan), Joel English (Drew Peters), Megan Shugarts and Alex Shugarts, four great grandchildren; London, Delilah, Annazella and Rae Lynn and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, H. Deanna (Cleaver) Shugarts whom he married October 8, 1960 and who passed away January 3, 2011, two sisters; Georgia Emanuelson and June Jackson and a brother, Kay Shugarts.

Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
