Scott Lee Rhodes “Scott Scott”, 41, of Cle Elum passed away on May 13th 2015. Scott was born in Bellevue on June 7th, 1973. His parents, Ron and Bonnie Scott, recognized he had a mechanical gift when he was just a kid. He was always taking things apart to figure out how they worked. Naturally Scott started working with his Dad from the get go. He drove equipment before he even drove a car. Scott attended Tahoma High School briefly, but graduated from Lindberg High School in 1992. His parents encouraged him to develop his skills and he went on to obtain his AA in Diesel Mechanic’s from Universal Technical Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Scott fell in love with his future wife, Jennifer Taylor, on a blind date set up by friends. They hit it off instantly at her work Christmas party. Not only did he have to win Jen over, but he had to audition as a Dad, too. Before too long Scott and Jen were married on the big island of Hawaii in 2001. On the same day he became a husband he also became a dad to Kenny Rhodes, and an amazing one at that. Scott, Jen, and Kenny initially lived in Selah, but soon made a home and a life together in Cle Elum, WA in 2002. There they grew their family and brought their daughter Kaylee home. Sadly in Nov. 2014 they lost their son Kenny Rhodes in a tragic accident.
Scott loved the simple things in life, Carhart’s, sweatshirts, romeo’s and always rocked a good hat. Being in the woods, fishing, hunting & camping were how he loved to relax. Scott loved snowmobiling with Jennifer in Idaho, and riding quads in Oregon. Scott was the owner operator of KJR Trucking, which he started with Jennifer in 2011. Even though Scott started his own company he often found a way to work side by side with his dad Ron, owner of Scott Equipment. He was a hard worker, devoted family man, and did his best to live life to the fullest. Scott had a gift for coming up with just the right smart aleck comment to put a smile on your face, and never hesitated to give somebody a hand.
He was preceded in death by his son Kenny Rhodes, grandparents Don and Shirley Rock, Dere and Gloria Wilcox, and Bea Scott. He was survived by his wife Jennifer, daughter Kaylee, parents Ron and Bonnie Scott, brother Nat Scott, and his sisters Teresa Scavera (Tony Scavera) and Andrea Wellborn (Trevor Wellborn). His loss was also immensely felt by his parents in law Alan & Dixie Withrow, sisters in law Brittany Collier (Todd Smith) , Allie Withrow, and brother in law Cody Collier (Samantha Shockey), Dylan Withrow. He was a beloved son, husband, father, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. Nobody could ever replace such an honest, loyal, and hardworking man.
The Celebration of Life for Scott will be held at Ritter Farm’s on May 31st at 3:00 p.m. After the Celebration of Life everyone is welcomed to come to the The Caboose Bar & Grill.
