William Spencer Beves

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 4, 2023 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral with a time of receiving friends following the service.

Bill was born in New York in May of 1939. He attended New England College and received his BS in English, enlisted in the Navy from 1961 to 1965, and received an honorable discharge. Bill then spent the remainder of his career as an insurance agent with BCBS of NC, Prudential, and Nationwide. He retired in 2017.

Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherrie Blizzard (Doug) of Clayton. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Beves Johnson (Pete) of Wendell, granddaughters, Brittney Johnson of SLC Utah, Kalyn Price (Ryan) of Apex, Kelsey Ewert of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and grandson, Ryan Ewert of Garner.

Bill fiercely loved the Lord, his family, and extended friends. He was a lifetime fan of the NC State Wolfpack and enjoyed watching the Carolina Hurricanes. He was great at telling jokes, loved all kinds of music, and cherished his Mid-Way Church family. Bill especially loved times with Mary and family when they would stop by to see him with treats from Bojangles and McDonalds! Bill had a beautiful voice. He had the gift of hearing a song once and could sing the harmony!
