Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 28, 2022 at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton, North Carolina with Pastor David Sutphin officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the committal service.
He was born in Greenville County, (Greer) South Carolina on September 24, 1956 to the late Jimmy Mickley Watts and the late Barbara Marie Tucker Watts.
By trade Wayne worked as an automotive body shop repairman but those who knew him knew his true passion was painting and his treasured Harley. If Wayne wasn’t riding or painting he was tending to his plants and excitedly showing those closest to him whenever a new sprout would appear or a new flower would bloom. His enthusiasm for growing and creating is where his soul truly shined. If none of the above was catching his attention at any given time, you could be sure to find him on the couch cheering on his favorite drivers in a Nascar race.
He is tragically survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan Frazier Watts, Son Duane Watts, Son Daniel Watts with wife Brooke Watts (who he always called his girl) and beloved granddaughter Haley Watts, and Daughter Amanda Watts.
The loss of Wayne not only affects his immediate family but extends to the rest of those he held dear: his brother Bobby Watts, his brothers – in – law (that he always called his brothers, no in-law about it) Michael Frazier, William Frazier and Julian Ball Jr., to his “little sister” Amy Coleman with her husband John Coleman, and the countless nieces and nephews who will always be loved by Uncle Wayne. Last but not least Grandma Pat, whose loved him from the beginning.
