Vivian Rose Putt went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 13, 2020. She was born in Davenport, Iowa on September 14, 1928 to Ray and Edna Sims. Her mother died at an early age and she was raised by Harry and Dagmar Long of Rock Island, Illinois.
After graduation from Rock Island High School, she worked as a secretary at Moline Iron Works and John Deere Malleable in Moline, Ill. She married her soulmate, Ralph Edward Putt, in 1949 and later they moved to Poughkeepsie, NY to open a Dairy Queen. After raising 2 children, Ron and Roxanne, they moved to Florida and Vivian worked at Burroughs Computer. They later moved to Alexandria, VA. Vivian worked as an Administrative Assistant for Abex Company and Pierce Architecture. Vivian and Ralph Moved back to Florida and enjoyed retirement. In 2010, they decided to move close to their children and grandchildren and settled in Clayton, NC.
Vivian loved her Lord and was active in church wherever they lived. Their last church home was Bethesda Baptist Church in Clayton, NC. She had a wonderful full life and was loved by many.
Predeceased is her husband, Ralph. Surviving are her two children Ronald Alan Putt (Susan), Roxanne Spears (Jack), grandchildren Joshua (Shelley), Brittany (Chris), Hallie (Brent) and Christopher (Paige) and four great grand-daughters, Edan, Violet, Abigail and Alaina.

A memorial service will be held at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, NC on July 18, 2020 at 11:00. Vivian will be buried along with her husband in Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois.
