Sylvia Jean McCoy born January 1, 1955 in Augusta, Georgia. Sylvia died tragically in a car accident on October 31, 2020. Sylvia is survived by her husband, Dale McCoy; son Jeffrey McCoy; daughter, Kathryn Carpenter; daughter-in-law, Amy McCoy; son-in-law, Kyle Carpenter; and 10 beautiful grandchildren, Anna, Gracelyn, Jeffrey, Levi, Price, Joel, Caleb, Dahlia, Hope & Rylynn. She is also survived by her parents, siblings and their spouses, and many loving extended family members.
Sylvia was a woman of many talents. She crocheted hundreds of blankets sending her love and warmth along with them and was an incredible seamstress. She loved cooking for her family and there was not a holiday that passed without her delicious pies. Her creativity had no end. Sylvia ran a successful home daycare for 17 years helping raise many babies and touching many lives.
Sylvia was a lover of life and of people. Her generosity knew no bounds. Her presence lit up any room she entered and her smile filled those who saw it with great warmth. She is remembered by all who knew her as the kindest person and the sweetest soul. Sylvia’s family draws comfort knowing they will see her again as she is joined in Heaven with her granddaughter Rosaleigh.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 10:30am in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with the family receiving friends following the service. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy for the McCoy family may be entered below within the "add a memory" tab.
