Sue Pearce Smith

She was born April 20, 1946, in Raleigh, NC to the late Melvin Solomon Pearce and Virginia Kemp Pearce. After graduating from Cary High School in 1964, Sue began her 45-year career in banking, where she met many lifelong friends.

In addition to being a great mom, Grandma Sue was the best sideline cheerleader. She spent most of her weekends after retirement at the football and soccer fields with her daughters and grandchildren.

Sue was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Hugh Pearce. She is survived by daughter(s) Kim Crutcher and husband Darrell of Clayton; Karen Mills and husband Bobby of Clayton; grandchildren Matt Crutcher (Heather), Kellie Crutcher Solomon (Kyle), Tyler Mills, Ryan Mills; and 2.5 great-grandchildren Mason, Chase, and Charlotte.

A memorial service for Sue will be held Monday, June 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM at McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel, 12830 US 70 Bus Hwy W, Clayton, North Carolina 27520. Following the memorial service will be a visitation at 1:30 PM at McLaurin Funeral Home, 12830 US 70 Bus Hwy W, Clayton, NC 27520.
