Throughout his professional career, Steven was employed by McDonnell Douglas and worked in the Apache Helicopter program, Kissimmee Utility Authority where he worked with hydroelectric systems, and Ajinomoto providing quality control for amino acid production.
In life, Steven had a curious nature and had many hobbies including the art of lockpicking and the art of knot tying, gardening with hydroponics, mastering the abacus, cooking on his Kamado grill, and creating beautiful paracord bracelets. He was also fascinated with alien conspiracies, knife-making, and tardigrades. With his many interests, his greatest love and joy was painting. He was an accomplished artist and painter with one of his paintings being displayed in UNC Johnston Health Clayton. Steven was also an avid student who received his master’s degree in business administration from Phoenix University.
Steven is survived by his wife of 34 years, Stella Gibson of Clayton, NC, his son, Jeremy Gibson of Raleigh, NC, his daughter, Jennifer Gibson of Clayton, NC, and two grandchildren. His kind and loving heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care received at the Laurels of Forest Glenn.
