Stephanie Lee Scott

Stephanie Lee Scott, age 66, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, in Smithfield, North Carolina. Born on October 28, 1958, in Nuremberg, Germany, she was the youngest daughter to Richard Scott and Lessie Shelton Scott.

She graduated from Herndon High School in Herndon, Virginia and Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia. Stephanie served as the executive administrative assistant to several NC Department of Crime Control and Public Safety secretaries and the NC State Treasurer. She received a meritorious service award from the NC Department of Crime Control and Public Safety. Stephanie was known for wearing hats, having a wicked sense of humor, and being a doting aunt and great aunt.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Stephanie is preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother, two sisters Theresa Scott Wilson and Diane Scott, two nieces, Nicole Wilson Busch and Sierra Scott, one nephew, Scott Wilson, two grand nieces, Lenore and Alexis Busch, and one grand nephew, Darin Busch.She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Arthur Wilson III and nephew-in-law, Brian Busch.
